Start a Database Instance

When you create a database instance, you choose whether you want to register it as a Windows service (see Add a Database Instance)If you select Register as Service, the database instance will start automatically when Windows starts up. However, there may be times where you need to start a database instance manually, for example, if the Register as Service option is not selected, or if the database instance has been stopped but you do not want to restart Windows. The topics in this section explain how you can set a database instance to start automatically and manually. For more information, see the topics that are listed in the gray footer section at the bottom of this topic. Select the relevant entry to display the topic that you require.
